CY2023 Refund Reports Are Available in the Manufacturer Payment Portal

Discarded Drug Refund Reports for all quarters of Calendar Year 2023 have been loaded into the Manufacturer Payment Portal (MPP). You may now access your refund reports to view details and initiate payments for refund amounts due in the MPP. To support you through this process, here are a few things to note:

  • Banking Information: If you have not yet set up your banking information in MPP, please do so as soon as possible. Once you click on the View Profile link, you will click on the Request Payer Account Modification button to add your Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) details. It takes 3 to 5 business days for the EFT information to process between banks and be available to use for payment initiation. Please do not wait until the last week of February to start this process. Your payment may be late, and you may be subject to civil monetary penalties as a result.
  • Deadlines: Please adhere to the following deadlines:
  • January 22, 2025: Should you view your Refund Report and believe there is an error, you must submit an error report for each asserted error in a written request to DiscardedDrugs@cms.hhs.gov. If you are submitting an error report for any refund amount due, please do not initiate payment until after the dispute is resolved.
  • February 28, 2025: Payment for refund amounts is due in the MPP, unless a dispute is filed with CMS, in which case payment will be due 30 days after the dispute is resolved or by the specified due date, whichever is later.
